SGM works in partnership with The Great Turf Company to improve management practices in the professional turf care industries. Whilst SGM can fulfil all machinery requirements for effective turf maintenance, The Great Turf Company focuses on nutritional aspects of turf care.

The Great Turf Company are specialists in Activated Microbial Turf Mangement; that is, the use of natural alternatives to chemical turf care as a means of ‘feeding the soil’ and maintaining a healthy soil environment, which is the key to healthy turf. The Great Turf Company’s products have been proven on a number of prestigious grounds across the UK and Europe including Premiership football clubs and Open Championship golf courses.

Green Business Network

SGM is a Green Business Network Accredited Member having been awarded Three Green Ticks from the Green Business Partnership.

Three Green Ticks is the highest award available with the Green Supplier Accreditation; it demonstrates that the company has an environmental policy, is committed to complying with applicable legislation, reviews its suppliers, regularly reviews its environmental action plan, engages staff on environmental issues and also has an environmental management system in place.

Green Achiever

Green Achiever is an environmental award scheme that enables and supports companies to declare to stakeholders what they are doing to reduce their environmental impacts.

As a registered member of Green Achiever, SGM has received a Four Star ‘Self Assessed’ Award for demonstrating its current and future environmental commitments.

British & International Golf Greenkeepers’ Association (BIGGA)

BIGGA is the UK’s leading professional association actively working to enhance the professional reputation and well being of golf greenkeepers and other sports turf professionals.

As a BIGGA member, SGM has access to a number of resources to assist the company in meeting the demands of the golf industry. 

Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG)

The IOG is a membership organisation representing the whole of the groundscare industry and all those involved in it. The IOG runs two of the leading industry exhibitions – IOG SALTEX and IOG Scotsturf – both of which SGM has exhibited at a number of times.

Hire Association Europe (HAE)

HAE is the leading trade association for hire and rental companies in the UK, Ireland and Europe. Its membership encompasses companies from the tool, equipment and plant hire sectors.
