Click on the images to the left to see products Chainsaw trousers (also known as chain saw pants or leggings) are an essential part of your overall safety clothing when working with chainsaws. Here at SGM we have a wide range of protective clothing and safety equipment to protect you whilst you work. This short piece will help you choose the chainsaw trousers that are best for you by explaining the different types that are available. There are two main formats of protective trouser, the first is type A and the second type C. Type A Chainsaw trousers: Type A trousers provide protection to the front of the legs only, they are not an overall protective piece of clothing. They are often word like chaps which sit over the operator's normal trousers to offer protection. Type C Chainsaw trousers: Type C trousers provide overall protection and keep both the front and back of the legs safe. They are usually worn in the place of normal trousers instead of covering over them like the chap stype A type trousers. Depending on the type of work you are doing you will know whether you need overall protection or only front protection and can choose accordingly. Overall protection includes items such as gloves and jackets. |
