Greenmech's Eco Combi received a very complimentary write-up in the 20th January 2012 issue of Horticulture Week.Greenmech Eco Combi

Michael Olleson and David Taylor  of Waterperry Gardens in Oxford tested the machine along with a number of other chippers.

They noted that being road-towable and easy to manoeuvre, the Eco Combi is ideal for mobile crews. It can handle both timber up to 6in in diameter and green waste.

They found that the turn key start was simple and that the 35hp diesel engine started quickly and was noisy compared with the average chipper thanks to the patented Disc-blades which cut down on noise and are less susceptible to damage. They achieve this by only presenting about one-third of their cutting edge for work. This also helps to save time and money on maintenance as blades can be turned around lengthening the period between sharpening considerably.

“It’s very effective and does not seem to have any trouble with any size of material,” noted Olleson.

Taylor was also impressed. “You get the feeling that reversing the rollers would clear most problems,” he said, adding that the loading height of both the chipper and shredder infeeds is comfortable.
