It tears through 6" hardwood branches with its perfectly-shaped curved blade, but also makes quick work of finger-thick saplings which it dispatches with a single stroke. I often use it now rather than loppers. I've even bought a couple to give to friends as gifts. I have owned a number of different types of saws over the years--mostly bow saws--but this is infinitely easier and quicker to use. The Silky can get into much tighter spaces, cuts faster and cleaner, and is much easier to carry with the beautifully designed scabbard. A pleasure to use. ** Nice saw and sturdy holster at a very good price. I can take this with me every work day out on the trails, but still have both hands free to take loppers, axes, or other tools.
